Washington State Library's collection of Nels Hawkinson's notebook containing specifications and statistics of the commercial fishing industry, 1918-1919.

This collection consists of a notebook that belonged to Nels Hawkinson, it appears, while he was managing the Carlisle Packing Co.'s canneries in Andreafsky, St. Mary's, and Cordova Alaska. The notebook contains notations about the specifications and statistics for the canneries. The Carlisle Packing Co. was involved in a civil lawsuit that went to the Washington State Supreme Court. It appears that this notebook may have been evidence in this case or another law suit because it is inscribed with Case No. 14742, exhibit no. 4.

Maud P. Mitchell was born about 1883 in Oregon. She married Chas. R. Mitchell and by 1920 they were living in Chehalis, WA. Charles was an assistant cashier at the bank. Charles had become a banker by 1930. Between 1957 & 1958 Charles passed away. And Maud passed away on 29 May 1960 in Chehalis, WA.
